Fees and Payment

The fees for this practice have been determined after due consideration of our overheads, including drug costs, wages, lab fees, equipment purchase and replacement, etc. While we aim to be competitive with other practices in the area, our high standards of service and care may be reflected in some fee differences. Veterinarians receive no government subsidy (i.e. Medicare) and have significantly higher overheads than medical doctors, so our fees may seem high in comparison with your doctor’s. Remember also that veterinary fees are NOT GST exempt, as are doctor’s fees.

Where detailed veterinary work is required on your pet, we will undertake to advise you (where possible) of various treatment options and the associated costs before proceeding with any treatment or procedure. Please be aware that we cannot give quotes for treatments – the best we can give you is an estimate. If the final fee is likely to be significantly higher than our original estimate, we will endeavour to contact you before proceeding.  Please ensure that the contact number you give when we admit your pet is in service and monitored.

If your pet is hospitalised we will attempt to give you a daily update on your current account.
